India’s star wicketkeeper, Rishabh Pant, was hospitalized after surviving a major car accident on his way back to Uttarakhand from Delhi. Pant was driving his BMW when it hit the divider at the Narsan border and caught fire. According to the Uttarakhand Director General of Police, Pant claimed that he fell asleep while driving and lost control of the car. He was the only person in the car at the time of the accident and managed to escape by breaking a window.
Pant suffered injuries to his forehead and leg in the accident. He was taken to Saksham Hospital on Delhi Road, where he was treated by Dr. Sushil Nagar, the chairman of the hospital. Pant’s condition is currently stable, but he has been referred to Max Dehradun for further treatment.
Eyewitnesses reported that Pant’s car collided with the railing and caught fire, but the fire was eventually brought under control. The Superintendent of Police, Dehat Swapna Kishore Singh, was informed of the accident and arrived at the scene.
